Ben Leaf

I am 16 years old and a soon-to-be senior in high school. I began lessons at Drawn2Art when I was 6 and have remained at the studio for 10 years. I enjoy the calm, welcoming atmosphere at Drawn2Art, as well as the connections fostered with students and teachers alike. To me, art is an escape from the humdrum, stress, and general bustle of everyday life; art is an outlet for creativity and relaxation. While honing my skills is a notable part of why I stick with the studio, I also simply enjoy putting a brush to a canvas and seeing what I can create. Art, while creative, should also be fun and stress-free—for the most part, anyway. My favorite artists include Moret, Bacon, and de la Riva. Apart from art, I bide my time by playing the piano, writing both stories and music, and volunteering. When I’m not chained to my computer finishing homework, you can find me taking long walks, going shopping, or listening to music, especially to singers like Grace Jones or Nina Simone. I hope to attend college on the East Coast and major in political science, someday accomplishing my longtime goal of becoming an attorney.
